Twelve more St John Payne Sixth Formers looking forward to Easter

Pupils working hard to raise their fares and pay for children

Twelve enthusiastic Sixth Form pupils from St John Payne School in Chelmsford are counting down the days until they step aboard their flight to Lourdes on Easter Sunday.

The pupils were selected from 42 applicants within Years 12 and 13 at the school.

Since their selection, they have filed in countless forms and worked at many ingenious ways to earn their fares as well as helping to raise some of the costs for the many disabled children on the pilgrimage.

The latest idea was two days bagpacking at Sainsburys in Springfield, when the customers' generosity helped them to raise over £3500!

Now they are planning a musical show in the school in March, featuring some of the school's amazing array of musical and other talent.

The countdown is one, the clock is ticking and in just a few weeks Group 718 will have their first experience of Lourdes!
