Hosanna House - a wonderful place to stay!

Hosanna House has been carefully designed to provide all of our guests with appropriate facilities and comforts they need throughout their stay

HCPT opened Hosanna House in 1975, responding to a young pilgrim who wanted to enjoy the HCPT Lourdes experience as an adult. Hosanna House is located in the village of Bartregraves, 3km from Lourdes.

Hosanna House has been designed to be a “home from home”. Regular guests include young people and adults with special needs and disabilities as well as the fail elderly and the many carers who make their stay possible. This tranquil retreat with extensive gardens and beautiful views of the Pyrénées, is located only 3km from Lourdes in the village of Bartres.

Hosanna House has been welcoming people from the UK and Ireland and beyond for over 30 years. HCPT will organise every aspect of your pilgrimage holiday from flights to dietary requirement.

About the accommodation

Hosanna House has spacious bedrooms, including twin, three and four bedded en-suite rooms, many of which have adapted access and bathroom facilities. The house has two wings, Notre Dame and St Bernadette. Specialist facilities include walk/wheel-in showers, baths with handrails or lifts, and all rooms have been adapted for improved access, with extra wide doorways. Each wing has a cozy lounge, dining room and a lift allowing easy access throughout.

Getting around during your stay

Hosanna House’s quiet and tranquil location does not restrict its guests from visiting the popular slights of Lourdes. There is a purpose-built coach with a lift as well as special minibuses available for use during the week, so travelling around Lourdes is easy.

Meals at Hosanna House

The house has two chefs and all meals are provided; we do our best to accommodate any special dietary requirements. All you need to do is contact us to tell us about your needs.

A place of inspiration

From April to October each year more than 2,000 people come to stay for a week at Hosanna House. Each week there are two groups of approximately 40 people of all ages and abilities staying in each wing. Each group has a Leader, Chaplain and Nurse who plan and manage the week’s programme. The programme is designed for visiting groups to make the most of the spiritual opportunities of visiting Lourdes, with plenty of time to enjoy the safe, caring family atmosphere of Hosanna House. Everyone is invited to participate in the Lourdes activities, including visits to the Grotto, the Blessed Sacrament Procession and Torchlight Procession along with excursions into the Pyrénées. There are also plenty of opportunities throughout the week to hold Masses and other services in the Chapel and to relax in the tranquil grounds.

HCPT takes over 2,000 pilgrims to Hosanna House each year in groups of 40-50, many of whom have disabilities or special needs. Anyone is welcome to join in a Hosanna House group holiday. Every member of a Hosanna House Group has an equal role to play and we make no formal distinction between those who are there to help and those who need help.
